From what I have seen on various blogs and forums there seems to be an increase in complaints about how the moderators are scolding members as if they were children as they slam the ban hammer down for virtually no good reason. As they exercise their "power" they leave you a nice little condescending message like; "why don't you go get a Myspace account", or "go find a fan site" or "go find a fan club where you can fawn over "whoever" there". They will also ban you for making spelling errors, saying "uhm", using improper punctuation, or typing "LOL". Their list of Don'ts is longer than War and Peace and who can remember all that? It would be one thing if their rules were consistent but they aren't. One day you can say something and the next day you can't and you get a warning for it. The moderators and reviewers are allowed to say certain things but the members are not allowed the same courtesy.

So why are they banning so many people? I don't know. Maybe you "snarked" on something that one of the moderators disagreed with. Maybe your opinion differed from the rest of the masses. Maybe you just rubbed a particular moder-Nazi the wrong way. Whatever the reason, the treatment is harsh, swift, and there is no room for negotiation. You aren't allowed to speak to anyone, plead your case, or discuss it in a moderator forum and somehow try to "redeem" yourself. You just log on one day and you have a condescending message that you have to click to confirm, and then you get the big red BANNED. Then you are shut out.

Truth be told, it seems to me that some of these mods...cough...Bayliss...cough...are the ones that need to go start up their own websites and Myspace accounts where they can dictate their will over the people and get their kicks off banning people there. Then leave TWoP open for people to actually enjoy themselves and feel free to "snark" all they want. Or maybe they need to take the snark tag line down since they clearly don't allow the members to feel free to make snarky comments anymore.

I know the forum has always been run by a few over sensitive individuals, but ever since NBCU got involved with the site the place has now become a network property. And how can you make fun of a show if you own that show?

Is this a life shattered issue in the world today? No, but it sure ticks me off and from what I can see it ticks a lot of other people off too.
